Ann is a native of East Tennessee who attended Salem Academy, a girls’ preparatory school in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and then college and law school at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She developed a strong interest in labor and employment law during law school and pursued its study broadly. During law school, Ann served as a summer law clerk for a member of the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C. She moved to Atlanta upon graduation to take a job with the largest management-side labor and employment law firm in the country, and she has been practicing in the area ever since.
Throughout her career, Ann has represented and counseled management clients in a wide range of labor and employment matters, including employment discrimination and civil rights litigation, wage-hour compliance investigations and litigation, EEOC and other administrative proceedings, union representation campaigns and elections, unfair labor practice liability and compliance proceedings, collective bargaining and contract administration, arbitrations and mediations, appellate proceedings in the state and federal courts, and preventive personnel practices.
Ann has long maintained a specialized expertise in the affirmative action obligations of government contractors and subcontractors, an area upon which a substantial amount of her practice is focused today.
She has represented employers in virtually every industry in the private sector, including manufacturing, construction, healthcare, mining, insurance, banking, retail, and the service industry.
